It is the Society’s Privacy Policy to comply with the National Privacy Principles.

The Society only collects Personal Information that is necessary for the conduct of the Society’s operations and activities, which is primarily to assist in the proper management and safe operation of its business. The Society may disclose Personal Information to:

  • individuals within the Society who have supervisory or management responsibilities; or
  • government agencies where the provision of such information is required by legislation; or
  • other third party suppliers who may become involved in the operations of our business, for instance accommodation providers.

You have certain statutory rights regarding access to the information we may collect about you. If you wish to access your Personal Information, please contact the Society’s Privacy Officer directly. The Society will, where required, provide you with your Personal Information within twenty-eight [28] days of a formal request for access and if applicable, on payment of the Society’s reasonable costs of retrieving and compiling that information. The Society may refuse access to information in certain circumstances defined under the National Privacy Principals, which include, where the Society, in its reasonable assessment, is unable to ascertain your identity, where the request is frivolous or vexatious or if in the Society’s reasonable opinion to do so would endanger another person.

If you wish to make a complaint about the Rail Motor Society’s privacy practices please contact the Society Privacy Officer directly with the details of your complaint. The Society undertakes that your complaint will be investigated diligently and a response provided as soon as reasonably practicable.
