HIRING A TRAIN
 he Rail Motor Society can provide a train to meet your
specific requirements. You can choose from one of our packaged offerings or put together your own tour program. The Society can provide
everything from basic train hire to a fully packaged tour offering. The Society's Tours Officer can assist you to put your own package together
with advice on routes, travel times, track work and stopping places.
The Society's trains can provide special tours for small groups using our 400 Class Rail Motor. The 400 Class seats up to 18 passengers
and is ideal for inspection tours or private business meetings. Medium sized groups up to 70 can be accommodated by two of our 1923 vintage
42-Foot Rail Motors, while larger groups up to 105 can utilise our 620 Class two-car diesel rail car (92 seats) or three CPH Rail Motors
(105 seats). All of these tours can be fully tailored to suit your particular requirements including on-board catering.
Due to lead times required for the issue of timetables by the network owners, the Society requires at least 8-10
weeks notice (the longer notice the better) to put a tour together.
The Rail Motor Society is fully licenced to supply alcohol to patrons on our tours. For more information on our services provided please

The Rail Motor Society can also provide its rolling stock for specialist rail oriented activities such a signal sighting surveys, track and
infrastructure inspections and radio and other equipment testing. We assign special crews with extensive rail backgrounds and an in-depth
knowledge of the routes and infrastructure for these operations to enhance the value of the trip for our clients.
ROLLING STOCK
The Rail Motor Society has a variety of rolling stock available. The seating capacities of our rolling stock are given in the table
below. Loadings over and above the standard seating capacity are not recommended for
long distance excursions.

INTERSTATE OPERATIONS
In addition to our base New South Wales accreditation, the Rail Motor Society also holds accreditation for standard gauge rail operations
in the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia. The Society is therefore able to offer extensive interstate
services to our clients.

FACILITIES FOR THE DISABLED
Please note:
- Our rolling stock are all heritage vehicles and are not equipped with modern facilities to readily accommodate disabled or wheelchair
bound passengers.
- At some destinations that we travel to, platforms may not be fitted with ramps or lifts for passengers with limited mobility to exit, while
others may have a large step down from the vehicle to the platform level.
Intending passengers or Customers should contact the Operations Manager about disabled access for our trains and for destinations.

PACKAGED TOURS
The Rail Motor Society can offer pre-packaged one, two and three day tour offerings. These are designed for the group tour market and are
ideal for Social or Service Clubs, work outings, Christmas Parties, birthdays or special events, etc. These cater for groups up to 80. Some
tour suggestions are detailed below. These are intended as a guide only and we can tailor a tour to meet your individual requirements.
Our one-day tours generally include train hire, lunch or dinner, morning and afternoon teas and transfers to venues if appropriate, while
our two or three-day tours generally include train hire, most meals, dinner/bed/breakfast accommodation, entry to attractions and transfers if
appropriate.
For those groups that do not want a full day tour but wish the opportunity to enjoy the experience of a ride on our heritage rail motors,
the Society has a special fixed price return service from our Paterson Depot to Dungog, Monkerai or Stroud Road. This service includes
morning or afternoon tea served on the train. We can schedule this service for a morning or afternoon run and this can be coupled with an
inspection of our museum exhibits and a lunch at one of the local Paterson venues.
